QR Code Generator
QR Code Generator turns any link or text into a scannable QR code you can download as a PNG. The code is generated in your browser and encodes your data directly, so it never expires, is not redirected through a tracking service, and keeps working for as long as the destination does.
Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded.

The distinction that matters is between a static code and a dynamic one. This generator makes static codes: the URL is encoded in the pattern itself, so the code works forever and nobody is counting the scans. Marketing services offer dynamic codes, which encode a short link you can re-point later — genuinely useful, but it means the code stops working if that service goes away, and every scan is logged by them.
Shorter data makes a simpler, more reliable code: a long URL produces a denser grid that needs a better camera or a bigger print. Keep a quiet margin of clear space around the code, and do not print it smaller than about 2cm square for a handheld scan. QR codes carry error correction, so a small logo in the centre or minor print damage usually still scans — but test the actual printed artefact with a real phone before committing to a run.
Common questions
- Will this QR code expire?
- No. The destination is encoded in the pattern itself, so the code is not dependent on this site or any other service continuing to exist. It works for as long as whatever it points to works. Codes that expire are dynamic ones, which encode a short link owned by a marketing platform.
- Can I edit the destination after printing it?
- Not with a static code, because the address is part of the pattern — changing it means generating a new code. If you need to re-point a code after it is printed, you need a dynamic code from a redirect service, accepting that the code then depends on that service and that your scans are tracked.
- How small can I print a QR code?
- About 2cm square is a sensible minimum for scanning from a normal handheld distance, larger for a poster read from further away, and larger again if the encoded text is long, since more data means a denser grid. Always leave a clear quiet margin around it, and test the printed version rather than the screen.
- Are my scans tracked?
- No. The code encodes your data directly with no redirect in between, so there is nothing for us to count and no analytics attached. The code is also generated inside your browser, so the text or link you enter is never sent to us in the first place.
